BEST COFFEE SHOPS IN SAN DIEGO

Do you love a good latte, mocha, or cold brew? This blog shares the BEST coffee shops in San Diego, California. Whether you are a local or a tourist, these coffee shops will quickly become some of your favorites!

Lovesong Coffee

This San Diego coffee spot has been getting some well deserved attention lately. They have innovative drinks & an impeccable space!

I tried the Old West and loved it (the barista described it as a “caffeinated root beer float” which I think is so cute)!

Java Earth Coffee

This cute and happy coffee shop has two locations in SD. One in La Jolla and one in Pacific beach. I love the Honey Vanilla Latte!

Where else could you enjoy sipping on your latte while surrounded by dinos & Ronald McDonald? This Downtown coffee spot & cocktail bar is a must visit. You’ll have so much fun while visiting!

The coffee is great & the lattes are made with house made syrups! Plus… they’ve got some bomb breakfast sandos! Check it out!

The Ground Beans Coffee Bar

This Pacific Beach coffee shop is aesthetic, and has great drinks. Plus, they have a pup friendly patio!

This San Diego Coffee spot is located in the Mission Bay Beach Club. With vegan pastries and oat milk drinks, this spot is plant-based heaven. I love their signature lattes including Spirit of Aloha and the Vanilla Biscuit Latte.

Portal Coffee

Located in Downtown, Portal Coffee is a fun spot that serves up some great joe! They have a super cool space in an industrial brick building. My suggestion: grab a latte and hang for a while! Plus... at times they even have a live DJ!

Drift Cafe

This PB coffee shop is a must visit! I thoroughly enjoyed my coffee & loved the decor.

Hot tip: Grab your coffee and enjoy a nice walk on the beach boardwalk…

Trident Coffee

The next time you’re in Coronado, you NEED to visit Trident Coffee. They have so many different cold brew on tap options. Plus, they can make cold brew lattes with their house made syrups! This place has a cool aesthetic & is veteran owned too!

S3 Coffee Bar

This 2d café is aesthetic & so cute! I absolutely love all the decor. Get yourself a latte you’ll never forget…

Forum Coffee House

This coffee house in Clairemont has some of the best beans (in my personal opinion)… I love the taste so much that I even bought a bag to brew at home! They are known for amazing seasonal drinks that you can't miss out on.

Better Buzz

San Diego's local favorite coffee chain is none other than Better Buzz. With locations in Hillcrest, Mission Beach, La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Point Loma and more you can get buzzed almost anywhere in SD. Each location is beautifully designed, with wonderful detail. Better Buzz has fun drinks, and they also have delicious sandwiches, toasts, acai bowls, and baked goods.

My personal favorite is the Caramel Buzz with a shot of espresso. Their vanilla bean latte and seasonal beverages are also delicious. If you are visiting San Diego, be sure to stop at one of the Better Buzz locations. I promise you will be hooked!

La Clochette

This Pacific Beach Cafe has delicious coffee, pastries, and food! My lucky husband works across the street from this spot which makes me jealous! ;)

Pump Coffee

Located in PB, this cozy coffee shop is a must visit! My fav here is the hazelnut mocha.

Moniker Coffee Co

Moniker Coffee Co has rich flavorful coffee. Moniker is a retail shop and coffee shop all in one. It has a cool vibe and you will love sipping a latte while catching up with your friends. Their cappuccino is so tasty, but I also love their seasonal flavors. They have had a Toasted S'mores Latte and a brown sugar lavender latte that were simply divine!

OB Beans Coffee Roasters

My final coffee suggestion is for those of you that love strong coffee. OB Beans roasts their beans in house, and when you walk in, it smells like coffee heaven.

I love OB Beans because it is founded and owned by alumni who attended Point Loma Nazarene University (my alma mater). My fav is their vanilla latte. OB Beans is a great place to sit and do work remotely. With relaxed vibes it is the perfect environment for focusing and getting tasks done.

San Diego has a variety of amazing coffee shops, but these ones definitely rank among the best. If you are a coffee lover, be sure you check out all of these businesses!

Love, Kylee Marie
