FIVE GREAT DATE IDEAS

Looking for a creative date idea? Are you a young adult in a relationship? This blog post is meant for you! Read on for five date ideas perfect for young adults!

Picnic with a View

I absolutely love picnics. I think picnicking is a fun way to get out of the house and spend time with the person you love. I personally prefer doing breakfast picnics or lunch picnics. My favorite picnic views are of the ocean, but I think it would also be fun to picnic at the peak of a hike! My picnics typically include pastries, juices, fresh fruit, vegetables, crackers, and cheeses. I like to use real plates, cups, and utensils as often as possible to be more environmentally friendly. I think picnics are also a super fun surprise date idea! I have surprised Jackson with two picnics throughout our relationship!

Cook a Meal Together

This is one of my favorite date nights. As a college student, I often opt to go to a restaurant when it’s date night, but I have been loving cooking a meal with my boyfriend Jackson. This is a fun way to work together and get creative in the kitchen. I love going to the store and planning out what we are going to cook. Some ideas of meals we have made in the past are: homemade pizza, tortellini with fresh artichokes, and we are going to cook stuffed bell peppers soon! Another awesome thing about cooking a meal together is that its often cheaper than going out to a restaurant while tasting just as delicious!

"Dessert Crawl"

I am personally very excited about this date night idea. If you’ve got the night ahead of you with no plans, but you have already eaten dinner, then a dessert crawl might be for you. This date idea is made for all of my fellow gals with sweet tooths. Plan to go to three dessert shops within a reasonable distance of each other, and at each place, purchase one dessert to share! For anyone in San Diego, I plan to do a dessert crawl for my birthday and go to: Salt and Straw, Frost Me Bakery and Bobboi Natural Gelato.

Electric Scooter to a Movie

There is something incredibly fun about riding around on a BIRD electric scooter. If you live in a place where you can pay to use electric scooters, I would highly suggest using it as a means of “transportation” to a movie. If you are a San Diego local, I would recommend doing free parking away from downtown, and then birding to the Rooftop Movie at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. An outdoor movie is an awesome date night in it of itself, but birding there is way more fun than paying for parking near the hotel!

Coffee Shop Study Date

As college students we are BUSY! Sometimes you want to spend time with your significant other, but also have readings, essays and studying you have to do. I love coffee study dates because we get to be together even if we are both studying. This is a fun way to explore coffee shops in your area as well. My personal favorite coffee shop in San Diego is Better Buzz. I enjoy going to the Pacific Beach location that has more seating, and room for studying.
