OREGON COAST TRAVEL GUIDE

I grew up going to the Oregon Coast once a week every summer. I have wonderful memories of spending the day soaking up the sun while splashing in the (cold) ocean waves. The Oregon Coast has the cutest lil beach towns. You will fall in love with Seaside & Cannon Beach. This travel guide shares the places to visit, things to do, and the food you have to eat while visiting the Oregon Coast!

SEASIDE

Places to Visit

Seaside Aquarium

I love the Seaside Aquarium mostly because of their adorable harbor seals. The true highlight of visiting the aquarium is the ability to feed the seals. The seals all do their own tricks in order to win your fish. It is worth the visit, even though the rest of the aquarium is pretty small.

Carousel Mall

Located in Downtown Seaside, the carousel mall is home to cute shops & a vintage carousel. The carousel has been around since I was a kid. This mall has a caricature artist, souvenir shops, and a cute coffee place! I love walking around downtown meandering through the shops.

Things to Do

Enjoy the Beach

This is a duh bullet point so I will keep it brief. This beach is perfect for flying a kite, playing in the sand, walking along the beach grass, and swinging on the swings! It can get chilly though so bring a coat!

Walk the Promenade

Seaside has a great promenade that is just a little under two-miles from start to finish! I love walking this in the morning when the crowds are minimal. It is fun to look at the different houses along the walk, and the view of the ocean is great!

Helicopter Ride

I rode a helicopter for the first time in Seaside, OR. It was beautiful to see an aerial view of Seaside. These helicopter rides are a little spendy, but they are well worth it! If you are interested here is the company I booked with: https://www.seaside-helicopters.com/

Aerial Challenge Course

The aerial challenge course is a fun new addition to Seaside. The obstacles are high above the ground and offer a fun way to exercise and get moving. The next day after I did the course I was sore lol! One of the coolest aspects of this course is a free fall 36 feet up in the air. This is a fun activity for couples or families (as long as you are not afraid of heights!! :)

Take Photos at Seaside’s Most Instagrammable Spots

I love a good picture opportunity.

Check out some of my favorite spots for photos!

800 S. Holladay Drive

Corner of N. Edgewood and Oceanway Streets

Giant Chair (Located at the end of the main strip)

Food

Sea Star Gelato

Sea Star Gelato is the best. I look forward to visiting every time I am in Seaside. I am obsessed with their "Beach Bonfire Smores" flavor. It is the most delicious gelato I have ever had. In addition, they recently remodeled and have added new things to the menu including fresh waffle cones made in house. Sea Star Gelato is one place you can’t miss!

Brew 22

Brew 22 is a local favorite in Seaside. This drive-in shop has delicious coffee and energy drinks. One of the standouts on their menu is espresso flavored soft-serve ice cream. I tried the “White Macadamia Breve” latte and loved the taste of their espresso. The coffee was not overly sweet but was the perfect amount of flavor. If you are a coffee addict like me, you would love this find.

Beach Day Coffee

Oops, another coffee spot. Can you tell I need my caffeine fix on the daily lol? Beach Day Coffee is a cute lil shop on the main Seaside strip. The thing that makes Beach Day special is its white espresso. As a (self-proclaimed) coffee connoisseur, I love the different flavor white espresso brings to a drink. My personal favorite is their “White Rocket” drink. I loved this drink hot, but it tasted way too sweet iced. Don’t miss out on this shop with its adorable decor & delicious espresso!

Cannon Beach

Places to Visit

Haystack Rock

Haystack Rock is one of the most iconic views of the Oregon Coast. The rock is surrounded by tide pools and at low tide, you can find shells, starfish, and lil crabs, among other sea creatures. This is a fun place to visit, and can be a great photo backdrop!

Things to Do

Rent Beach Bikes

Renting beach bikes, was one of the best parts of my trip to Cannon Beach. You can cover so much ground and you get a killer workout in! I rented beach bikes, but if you would prefer a family bike for biking around downtown, you can rent bikes like these in Seaside! I rented my bike from: Family Fun Cycle.

Food

Bruce’s Candy Kitchen

Bruce's Candy Kitchen has the best saltwater taffy I have ever tasted. The taffy is fresh & there are so many flavors to choose from. A few of my favorites flavors are butter, watermelon, vanilla, pomegranate & strawberry! I love that you are able to watch them make the taffy & get a fresh, hot sample. I always make a stop here when I am visiting the Oregon Coast!

Cannon Beach Bakery

If you know me, you know I am obsessed with any and all desserts. Cannon Beach Bakery is one of the places that has something for everyone. They sell breads, baked goods, doughnuts, cakes & more. On my last visit, I ordered a vanilla cupcake with raspberry filling. YUM! This place is perfect for breakfast, snack, or dessert!

PS:

On the way to the Oregon Coast, you need to stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. I love this place because they have cheese samples, and you can buy their ice cream! It is fun to see how cheese & ice cream is made by taking a tour of their creamery! This place is worth the stop.

I hope you enjoyed my Oregon Coast Travel Guide!

I am sure you will love Seaside & Cannon Beach!

Sincerely,

Kylee Marie
