Balboa Park is a great date spot. I love walking around, exploring the museums, and checking out the special events they have!
Go to the San Diego Zoo
The San Diego Zoo is incredibly impressive. I spent a whole day here, checking out the animal exhibits! It is well worth the visit and price tag.
Rent a Kayak
I loved renting a kayak in San Diego. One of my favorite places to go kayaking is in La Jolla. This place is especially fun because there are sea lions and seals that swim around you!

The USS Midway and Kissing Statue are iconic spots in San Diego. These spots are great for pictures and make a fun tourist activity.
Go to a Rooftop Movie
San Diego has an awesome rooftop cinema! They like to show classic movies, and this makes the perfect date!
Best Beaches
La Jolla
La Jolla is my favorite beach in San Diego. The beaches are clean, and the area is great for surfing, tanning or relaxing on the beach!
Coronado Beach
I am obsessed with Coronado. The beach is usually less busy than other CA beaches and has the softest sand!
Best Coffee
I have an entire blog post on the best coffee in San Diego so be sure to check it out! Here is a quick run-through of my favs!
Better Buzz
Any San Diego native knows that the best place to get coffee is Better Buzz. My personal favorite beverage is a Caramel Buzz with a shot of espresso.
Moniker Coffee Co
Moniker Coffee Co has rich flavorful coffee. Moniker is a retail shop and coffee shop all in one. It has a cool vibe and you will love sipping a latte while catching up with your friends
Best Ice Cream
Salt & Straw
Salt and Straw is amazing! I am a Portland native, and I love how they tailor their ice cream to their different locations. The flavors offered in San Diego are different than flavors in Portland or Anaheim etc. This is my favorite ice cream shop!
Scoops La Jolla
Scoops is a cute little gourmet ice cream shop. The ice cream is delicious and packed with flavor. I ordered a double scoop of vegan chocolate chip cookie dough and peanut butter chocolate chip!
Best Brunch Spots
Similar to the coffee in San Diego, I have an entire post dedicated to the best Brunch meals in SD. Check it out!
Fig Tree Café
Fig Tree Cafe is a brunch place that serves delicious dishes prepped with fresh ingredients. They identify as a “California eatery” and are a wonderful example of California’s unique cuisine.
Breakfast Republic
Breakfast Republic is my absolute favorite brunch restaurant in San Diego. They have the yummiest food, and it is well worth the wait. I personally love getting the pancake flights or sharing the French toast flight.
Harry’s Coffee Shop
This cute little diner has been a staple in the La Jolla community since 1960. When I went I ordered the strawberry pancakes with fresh-squeezed tangerine juice and my fiance got an omelet with hash browns. It was delicious!
Best Dinner
Bencotto
Bencotto is one of the upscale restaurants in Downtown San Diego. I love carbs, and this Italian food is authentic & delicious. They have incredible Gnocchi!
Pizza Port OB
Pizza Port OB is a fun spot with unique pizzas. My pizza had butternut squash, and although it was not a typical ingredient I would order on pizza, it was delicious! They also have yummy appetizers including mac & cheese bites!
Stone Brewery
Stone brewery is a delicious restaurant with international cuisine. Stone is a San Diego staple located in Liberty Station. They have great gourmet burgers & drinks!
Additional Foodie Spots
Northside Shack
Northside Shack is the BEST Acai you will ever try. One of the best things about Northside is that there are so many toppings included in their acai bowls. They have pineapples, purple grapes, raspberries, blackberries, coconut shavings, and more! I love to get the 50/50 bowl with acai and coconut base.
Liberty Public Market
Liberty Public Market is a great place to get delicious food. Locals & tourists alike visit to try the different food vendors offered. There is amazing pasta, empanadas, Thai food, burgers, & salads!
