Santorini was on my bucket list for as long as I could remember. Visiting Santorini was nothing less than a dream come true. This travel guide summarizes my favorite places to visit, things to do, and must-try foods in Santorini, Greece!
Places to Visit
Downtown Oia
A trip to Santorini would not be complete without visiting the iconic blue-domed churches. I loved visiting Downtown Oia and walking around in all of the stores. As you know Oia has some of the most famous viewpoints in all of Greece. You could easily spend the whole day exploring and taking gorgeous photos. Fun fact: When I was exploring Oia- I even saw the filming of the Bachelorette (Hannah Brown’s season).
Perissa Black Sand Beach
Visiting the black sand beach is a great way to relax and enjoy your vacation in Santorini. I loved going to this beach. The sand is warm and composed of tiny black pebbles. It is fun to layout under the palm leaf umbrellas. We got there by ATV which I will talk about later in this blog!
Downtown Thira
I stayed in Thira in a super cute Airbnb. Thira has beautiful views that rival Oia. I loved Thira because there is an old church you are allowed to climb on that truly is the perfect sunset spot. One tip: do not stand on the churches in Oia even if you have seen other Instagrammers do it. This is incredibly disrespectful to the people and their culture.
Things to Do
Sunset Catamaran Tour
The sunset catamaran tour was my favorite part of my entire trip to Santorini. Although there are many companies, I would suggest booking through “Get Your Guide”. I have attached the website for the tour I booked above. For approximately 150 euro, you get a 5-hour sunset cruise with dinner, drinks and a pickup. This tour was amazing. The staff was so kind, and they allowed us to stay past the 5-hour mark to allow the sun to completely set. The food they serve is authentically Greek and it is incredible. It is honestly some of the best food I ate while in Santorini. The boat also stops at multiple locations around Santorini, and you are able to swim and snorkel when the boat stops. I cannot recommend this enough. If you go to Santorini, please book a Catamaran tour- you will not regret it!
Mikes’ ATV

If you are staying in Thira, and you are looking into transportation around the island, I would suggest ATV’s. In Santorini, ATV street driving is legal and a great way to explore what the island has to offer. ATV’s are cheaper than renting a car, and parking is easier when you are driving an ATV. Mike is one of the Santorini natives, and he is the best. He will give you affordable pricing for ATV’s and is super friendly. My friends and I rented ATVs’ from Mike at 30 euro per bike for each day! There are many places to get ATV’s but I would recommend renting from Mike. When one of our ATVs broke down- we gave him a call and he drove across the whole island to fix it and ensure we would get to our next destination safely. Riding ATVs around Santorini is one of my favorite memories and ATV riding is also just a super fun unique activity in general!
Fish Pedicure
Getting a fish spa is a super unique experience. After doing some research, I went to “Fish Spa Kangal Santorini”. They are known for their cleanliness and professionalism. This was my first time, ever getting a fish pedicure, and it was so strange. The fish nibble at your dead skin, and while it does not hurt at all. I would be lying if I said it didn’t tickle a little bit. This is a great activity to do with your girlfriends!
Take pictures of the Decorated Donkeys
The Donkeys in Oia are there to be ridden up and down the steps. I opted not too because I felt bad for the animals, but I must admit they are beautifully ordained, and the donkeys are awfully cute! I would suggest taking pictures of and or with them!
Food
Erotokritos Cretan Bakery
WOW. This bakery is simply incredible. They have amazing baklava, bread, and other delicious baked goods. This place is authentic, and because of that, they do not speak any English. This was the one place in Santorini where the language barrier occurred, but it was manageable by pointing and speaking the one Greek word I knew: thank you!
Falafeland
The falafel here is delicious. I have an even greater appreciation now because I am vegetarian. When I visited Santorini, I was not a vegetarian yet but I loved it. The food is fresh, and when in Greece you really must eat at least one falafel.
Yogi’s Gyros
When in Greece, you really must eat Gyros for almost every meal because they are so good, and also surprisingly affordable. The Gyros at Yogi’s are only 3 euros, which is a super cheap price for a meal. I love the french fries that they put into the gyros. Don’t believe me? My boyfriend probably ate 15 euros during our 6-day trip lol. Yogi’s Gyros really are just that good.
Pelican Kipos
Pelican Kipos is a beautiful little restaurant perfect for dinner or breakfast. The restaurant features lush plants both indoors, and on the patio. It truly is a unique dining experience. This restaurant is on the fancier side and features live music. The food is delicious and the service is incredible!
Coffee Lab
This coffee shop is so much fun. The coffee is delicious, and the people working are so nice. We stopped here each day of my trip and I simply loved it. I got a blended coffee drink with a doughnut on top! This place would delight any coffee lover like myself!
Tzatziki Lays Chips
LOL. I had to add this to my list because where else can you get Tzatziki flavored Lays Chips. I bought these from the Santorini supermarket and finished the bag within a day!
Thank you for reading my Santorini Travel Guide! I hope I was able to offer helpful tips! Let me know if you've been to Santorini, Greece or if Santorini is on your bucket list!
