My family has been living in Phoenix, Arizona for two years and I finally got the chance to explore Downtown Phoenix. I was surprised by how much fun I had romping around the city despite the weather being over 100 degrees! Read on for the top things to see and do in Downtown Phoenix.
Explore Roosevelt Row
Roosevelt Row is the arts district in Downtown Phoenix. I loved walking around exploring all of the beautiful murals. Everywhere you look you will see painted walls. They truly are a masterpiece. In the pictures below you will see some of my favorite works. This is Instagram heaven!
Mural Hop
The streets surrounding the Phoenix Convention Center and Symphony Hall are lined with photo worthy murals. I got some great shots for Instagram and loved getting to see the city. I don’t know about you but murals make me so happy! I love how colorful and unique they are and I enjoy getting to see an artists talent and vision come to life.
Visit the Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market
This is a wonderful farmers market. I love shopping local and supporting the communities farmers and artisans. I am a sucker for farmers markets and I found the Phoenix one to be exceptional. There were wildflower bouquets, local Arizona honey, fresh picked produce and cute bakeries and coffee shops. The market is open on Saturdays from 8am-12pm. Check out the market’s instagram page here.
Breezy Pops
One vendor I wanted to highlight was Breezy Pops. Breezy Pops sells popsicles made out of fresh fruit. They are sweet, all-natural and delicious. I loved their strawberry popsicle, and they also had amazing pineapple and mango pops. Breezy Pops are perfect for enjoying on the warm sunny Phoenix days.
Visit The Churchill
The Churchill is a super cool spot that houses ten small local businesses. The Churchill is made out of old shipping containers and has a super cool vibe. The businesses are trendy and unique. This is a great place to come get a bite or shop while downtown.
Foxy Fruit Acai Bowls and Smoothies
One of my favorite businesses located in The Churchill would be Foxy Fruit. Foxy Fruit has amazing acai bowls. I am from San Diego and my expectations for acai and smoothie bowls are super high! Foxy Fruit exceeded my expectations. I ordered the Ocean Breeze Bowl which is a banana, pineapple base with blue spirulina and coconut milk. This delicious bowl was topped with homemade granola, coconut flakes, bananas and kiwi. It was a sweet and healthy treat. I would highly recommend stopping here!
Stop by Lola Coffee
Last but not least, a trip downtown is not complete without a coffee stop. Lola Coffee is a super cute coffee shop located in Roosevelt’s Row. If you are a coffee lover like I am then you will love this little shop. The smell of espresso drifts outside the shop and is overwhelming in the best of ways when you walk inside. The coffee is roasted daily in house which helps contribute to the amazing aroma. I would recommend trying the Iced Vanilla Caramel Latte. The whipped cream is also freshly made and is incredible. I normally forego whipped cream, but I tried some of my sisters coffee and was disappointed I had not ordered some myself! If you love a good cup of coffee then Lola has the perfect cup for you.
